Simpang Bedok used to be the most frequented place during my childhood - the memories of the first kitchen scissors that I bought with the Mom. The uncle even declared it could cut through bone! Anyhow...fast forward decades and here it is today, a bustling area of food gems. A plethora of cuisines one can find - korean, malay, chinese, western...are just a few to name. We were there for Mad Jack's, a budget halal Australian eatery that supposedly serves up more than decent fish and chips and burgers.
Psycho Chick Nasi Lemak ($7.90)
Boneless fried chicken, fried egg, fruit salad and a dollop of belachan to go with fluffy light rice. The rice reminded of basmati somehow - lacking in substance. O-k-a-y tasting nasi lemak.

Both burgers had the same type of patty - a slab of mush. Any trace of meat is purely up to imagination. Fillers aplenty, even Cedele's avocado beetroot burger had more bite than this. That being said, the rest of the burger - sesame bun, lettuce, mayo and tomatoes were decent. Oh yes, fries too. I would get a better burger at Mcdonalds or Burger King.
Disappointing display by Mad Jack. What you pay is what you get? Did not venture further with desserts.
