Breakfast at Cinta Grill was something I looked forward to every single morning during the trip..immense choices and wonderful hospitality extended by the staff.
Hard to miss statue at the entrance of the open-air pub cum restaurant.
Eggs Benedict (IDR 32,000)
Poached eggs with ham on homemade toasted English muffin, topped with Hollandaise sauce, Home fries
I found the best Eggs Benny, in Bali.
Nobody quite nailed it in Singapore..either being too sour or too bland while Cinta Grill mastered the wonderful technique of poaching the eggs to such runnyness without it looking like a murder scene and concocting such a lovely creamy Hollandaise sauce that was mildly sour yet appetizingly so. Homemade toasted muffin was crispy at the edges and moist within...lovely!
Breakfast Burrito (IDR 38,000)
Chorizo sausage, eggs, cheese and salsa. Comes with pico de gallo salsa, black beans or home fries
Rather drab in appearance, this burrito had a wrap so thick that it became hard to chew. Stuffing was palatable with an extra dollop of ketchup but otherwise, still not a fan of chorizo sausage.
Oh, liked the mushy black beans topped with a layer of chewy cheese! Their homefries are really just panfried potatoes with chilli, tomatoes and onions. They were a tad oily here.
Homestyled Corned (IDR 38,000)
Beef Hash with two poached eggs and whole wheat toast
We opted for the eggs done sunny side up with beef hash. Beef hash was simply home fries with beef jerky cubes. The beef was a tad gamey and dry which made chewing difficult.
Mie Goreng Hot (IDR 33,000)
Wok fried noodles with chicken and vegetables
The only Indonesian dish we had over breakfast. Like Indo mee, fried.
Nasi Goreng Hot (IDR 33,000)
Wok fried rice with chicken and vegetables
Like mie goreng, nasi goreng did not strike too huge an impression.
Cinta Omelette (IDR 42,000)
Grilled vegetables, cheddar cheese, bacon crumble topped with sour cream
One hearty omelette it was though mozarella would have been oh-so-sinful.
I found pancakes hard to resisit, especially when there were 4 choices.
Lemon and Poppyseed Pancakes (IDR 35,000)
With vanilla yogurt and mixed berries
Hearty!
Multigrain Banana Walnut Pancakes (IDR 35,000)
Butter and honey
Pancakes were not the most fantabulous ever consumed but these fluffy babies did justice to their charred delish outlook. Moist and fluffy carb loaders. Of the two, I actually favoured banana walnut better, they reminded me of the banana panjakes the Mom used to cook for breakfast. Loaded generously with walnuts, I was ready to take on a mountain hike if need be thereafter!
My poppy speckled pancakes did not go too well with the bland vanilla yogurt and sour berries.
Loved them grilled bananas with a layer of browned sugar...yummeh!
Cinnamon Croissant (IDR 22,000)
Dry pastry with barely a hint of cinnamon. Obviously off someone's bakery counter.
Scones with Strawberry Butter (IDR 12,000)
Crumbly biscuity texture these scones were without the luxurious buttery finish I so desire, decent scones I say!
The daily beverages we were entitled to.
Iced coffee.
Macchiato.
Latte.
Yet another.
Camomile tea.
Juices - honey, carrot, ginger.
Breakfast at Cinta Inn was a hearty affair and it filled us up so considerably, having lunch at noon was out of the question.
Being famous for mojitos, how can I ever allow myself to walk out of the doors of the Grill without trying any? 1-for-1 promotion runs for most part of the evening, I had them just before taking my flight!
Mango and Passionfruit Mojito
Ginger Mojito
Whacks you in the head so subtlely yet powerful, like how Muhammed Ali would "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee." Until the last drop, it was refreshing and much like a fruit punch. It was only moments later that the head started floating and filling the full floaty effects. One majorly yummy mojito without the grassy taste that most mojitos have.
Ginger was sublime with the ginger shreds while mango had a more fruity aftertaste.
Loved them, hic!
