Locating this was quite a feat on its own...down the beaten path and we chose to take a walk there instead of hailing a cab! I was piqued by the description of it being a former temple.
Into the former sacred premises.
Located in a rather chi chi location, minutes away from Saigon Center and next to Fanny's, Temple Club is easy to miss if you're not observant enough.
Temple Club has a restaurant as well which explains the bar reeking of prawns somehow.
I loved the idea of the chilling area being a mishmesh of concepts..it felt like so many family's living room concepts gelled into one.
Down the walkway into the restaurant?
Lamp...
Gramophone
The decor is has temple influences...in fact, oriental touches that made it a really cosy place to hang out.
Their manual of a menu.
Temple Cocktail (85,000 VND)
Not a huge fan of this somehow though the barley aftertaste was nice.
Pina Colada (90,000 VND)
A bitter and potent pina colada concoction..a first of its kind to be honest. The usual pina coladas I've ever attempted are breezy, tropical and coconutty but this was...too much.
Drinks are a tad heavy on alcohol proportions.
When I was passed a handwritten bill, I was amused. They should have completed the experience with a calligraphy-ed bill. Just visit for a feel of the place but that really is about it. No wows, no surprises...just a simple bar.
