Arinco Roll came and went with majority smacking their lips and crowning it Queen though I thought otherwise. Mon Chou Chou like Nenrinya has a perpetual queue and it gets worse before New Year. A 15 minute wait, is but short. Cream rolls and puddings form the limited reportoire of goodies they have in store but everyone was there for one thing and one thing only - the much revered Dojima cream roll.

Like the Parisians, the Japanese place emphasis on distinguished creations that have been given awards. Dojima Roll was awarded Grand Gold Quality Award 2010 in Germany.
One word to sum it up: Fantabulous.
The swiss roll's thickness was just right to balance the whipped cream. I usually shy away from whipped cream due to its artificial milky aftertaste. Not Mon Chou Chou, its cream is full-bodied and flows so effortlessly down the throat. I could drink the cream, if need be...and most willingly so. Tinged with a slight sweetness, this was simplicity made perfect.

I L.I.K.E. the look of that amount of cream. hahaha the sponge's thickness is way too thin to balance the loads of whipped cream lolx but I like! I would gladly drown in a pool of that cream!
ReplyDeletehahaha but oddly, the proportions were really good! didn't feel that the sponge was too thin or the cream was too much... sigh! i shdve just nabbed a bottle or two of the puddings...been reading wonderful reviews about it. :x someone shd just bring mon chou chou in!!!
ReplyDeletePhoebe, go check out the Hokkaido fair at Tampines mall starting tomorrow. Get the Hakodate Shinori Roll Cake Whole. It's really super delish! Looks just like Mon Chou Chou's Dojima cream roll. The cream is so delicious & sponge very soft even when frozen. I posted the pictures on fb and flickr but no shot of the cake itself. It's the one in the dark blue box.

gosh ice! you're tempting me bigggggg time with it! but tampines. =( how long's the fair on for? the tampines fairs are always potential stampeded places.
