One of the newer additions to Siglap's food streets, Society Cafe is by no means a newcomer on the block with outlets at Citylink, Changi Airport and Plaza Singapura. The girls and I needed a place to chill and chat the night away and Society Cafe seemed an appropriate option since it was the only cafe that was not packed.
Banana Smoothie ($6.80)
The rawness of the bananas were evident in the smoothie though bearable.
Carrot Cake with Green Tea Frosting ($5.50)
With such contrast in flavours, it was surely a hate or love. Instead of the familiar usual cream cheese frosting, Society Cafe ups the excitement by infusing green tea which I found pleasant with a slight minty aftertaste. Would still prefer the good ole' cream cheese anyday though. The carrot cake had walnuts and carrots but missed out on the raisins and cinnamon flavouring.
Tiramisu ($8)
Simply just layers of cream with a terribly soaked through sponge. Sure looks better than it tastes, we could not bear to even finish it.
Sticky Toffee Pudding ($7)
Caramel, Vanilla Icecream
It looks dry and sure was dry. Tasted just like the Mid-Autumn piglets made of mooncake dough rather than a proper pudding I expected. 'Sticky' was achieved with the caramel sauce but 'toffee pudding' was barely there.
Props to the attentive service staff who bothered to refill glasses and the extra mile in service rendered; he saw I was done with my milkshake and bothered enough to bring us a round of water. Despite that, not quite enough to warrant a return.

the tiramisu looks nice...and the carrot cake is really orange-y, too bad not much cinnamon kick! But love that unique concept of green tea frosting.
