Mcdonald, McCafe...McLove!

Mcdonalds' footing in Europe is pretty strong as compared to its counterparts like KFC or relatively unknown or even unheard of Carl's Junior, Wendy's and Burger King. Localization of the menu never fails to intrigue me.

Royal Bacon (4,60€)

When I first laid my eyes on the menu, I knew I had to get it. At least for a comparison with Quality Burger! The burgers in Europe certainly lack the height but makes up for it with better taste! Chewy burger bread with a moderate portion of beef patty and bacon...the beefyness is addictive despite the thinness. Strangely tastes better in foreign land.

Doing a takeaway at McCafe was by no account accidental. Not every Mcdonalds comes with a McCafe, however.

Nope, mine did not come in a box as advertised. In fact, the waitress' expression was priceless; absolutely clueless.

Colours and macarons, gorgeous splashes of colour.

Macarons (0.9 Eur/piece)

Surprise..surprise! Even McCafe has jumped onto the bandwagon of this lucrative lil' un. So far, only sighted in Paris. Though the advert claimed boxes are available, mine were all packed in the usual brown paper bag.

I had my reservations about this but boy, they were good! If chewy is your kind of macaron, go for McCafe's. Distinction between flavours is not that obvious, neither is the sophistication of flavours available. Cheap thrill, literally.

BlackForest Cake

Chanced upon this in Frankfurt. Decent attempt though for a German specialty, this did not wow too much.
