Blic @ Tampines

Special thanks goes out to the hospitable hosts Ben and Larry for the sampling session! A miscalculation in distance resulted in the fellow foodies and I dragging out feet under the scorching sun to suss Blic out. Ben let slip they are still experimenting with flavours and additions, amongst them choya, tiramisu ice-cake and crispy waffles are being fined tune!

More than just a binge.

I wonder if the hosts knew what they were in for when they invited us food bloggers for a sampling. The insane amount of icecream dished out so willingly.

Alright, I coined the tiramisu ice-cake, a combination of Tiramisu icecream and cake all in one. Now, you can have your cake and eat it! This is not available on the menu yet and we were amongst the first to sample! We were advised to take a deep scoop to fully savour the full works.
When eaten separately, it's really just thick vanilla with well soaked mascarpone sponge fingers.

Let the pictures speak for themselves...

For photography purposes, we tried hard to match flavours according to their colours!

Blic differentiates with toppings that compliment apart from the usual hundred thousands, choco chip sprinkles. Chopped lychees here...

Do a double take please, real bird's nest! That's a STEAL!

Fat raisins plumped with rum.

Ice-cream tasting never got more serious than this.

For this post, I'll go simple. Save the longwindedness and here goes the ABC's of Blic.

Almond overload makeths the bland Bird's Nest.
Battle of the sweet and sour with two interpretations of ScAm (Soursop, Calamansi, Martini). The sour dissipated nearly upon dissolution, the sweet was overbearing.
Chinese dessert best captured in an icecream...presenting Black Sesame!
D
ifference there was hardly any between the French Vanilla and Vanilla Bean.
Exuberance of pleasure with Seasalt Malt...really like Horlicks.
Full-bodied Coffee, kopi-o gao anyone? Not a coffee drinker but I licked this clean.
Go for the yet-to-be-launched cake for the punch..else Tiramisu is touch and go.
Healthy Banana Peanut Crunch, Post would be proud of its interpretation.
Instant mix was what Green Tea represented with the powdery finish.
Just not decadent enough for the chocoholic was Double Choc.
Killed the mint with overpowering lychee in Lychee Mint.
Love or hate the Cempedek, it's one defining flavour.
Melted faster than you can read its name. Baileys, on plenty of rocks.
Not for the faint hearted, Durian King reigns with a wholesome rich taste. Mixing in pulp would have been the trick.
One moment of sour, sums up Soursop. Wished the sour lingered on.
Perfect for milkshakes, Mango Lite supposedly was. Sold out before they reached my lips.
Quite literally mint and choco balls in Menthos Choc Ball.
Raisins overshadowed the Rum, not quite a balanced symphony.
Strawberries gone missing in the Strawberry Chunky, somewhat artificial.
Tangy Passion Yogurt
reminds me of Sour Plum.
Unanimously charmed by Ferraro, loving the bits of crunchy hazelnut!
Vanilla Beans peppered this ordinary white knight - Vanilla Bean.
Where's the Dino in the Milo, too light for the palette.
Xtreme sin this whole outing was.
Yet, this desire for icecream has not ebbed.
Zero calorie icecream next?

Gosh, I really tried too hard for this! Nonetheless, that roughly sums up the whole experience at Blic. Credit has to given to the innovative team who seek inspiration from their dining experiences all over and I wish them luck in finding a niche amidst the booming icecream trade!
