The pasta challenge teaser issued by PizzaHut sometime back created quite a buzz and had alot of people (myself included) feeling quizzical about it.
Pizzahut in the mind has always been about pizza; pan pizza, stuffed crust...garlic bread and spicy drumlets.
The reviews given were out of this world good..and they claimed the pasta was as good as the restaurants.
I hope I'm really in for a surprise..
Ice Lemon Tea that was so plain, maybe they should have offered plain water instead.
Tomato soup with garlic bread
Something decent at least! The tomato soup was thick and flavourful. Garlic bread was somehow sliced thinner than the
Turkey Bacon Carbonara
Linguine doused with cheesy cream sauce accompanied by baked turkey bacon and fresh button mushrooms
Presentation wise it looked alright..Pizzahut tried to "arty-fart" it with the positioning of leaves and bacon. The cream sauce at first glance looked more like soup than cream. One bite and it sealed its fate. Pizzahut used a cream soup for the sauce which came across as bland, linguine was thankfully done quite nicely, bacon was not bacon..more like ham coloured like bacon.
Chicken Pomodoro
A colourful spread of Linguine in tangy red Pomodoro sauce with a generous topping of roasted chicken strips and a sprinkle of green peas
Of the two, I preferred this better..not in an outstanding manner. At least the chicken strips tasted like chicken.
An indication of how bland it is? You need to sprinkle enough parmesan cheese like that to even taste it.
Stick with the pizzas please...
