Seah Street Deli @ Raffles Hotel

Seah Street Deli...the "All American joint" of Raffles Hotel. There's just something about dining at Raffles Hotel that's charming...as with Goodwood Park. The colonial architecture? Meant to patronize Seah Street for the highly raved burgers awhile back but after a series of unfortunate events, here I am back at where I always intended.

Packed on a Friday night.

Jukebox that ups the whole American bar feel...weirdly enough, this jukebox spins techno tunes too!

The usual suspects, chilli sauce was missing though.

Read the menu like a paper!

Warm water in mugs, a rarity these days.

Mac and Cheese with Chicken Sausages ($13.90)

Macaroni baked with creamy cheese and sausages. The chicken sausages were bland, cheese and macaroni combination was not too bad. The cheese tasted more like dense cheese soup than melted cheese. I'm not a fan of macaroni truth be told, gets a weebit jelard after a while.

The Lincoln Tunnel ($22.90)

Long bun with Angus Beef Patty Burger glazed with Honey-orange Smoked Paprika BBQ Sauce, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and a slice of cheese.

So this is signature. 250 gm of beef, minced. Half of two portions, which is good enough for small eaters. I found the BBQ sauce not that complementary with the beef burger, or rather I'm not high on BBQ sauce in the first place. The overall sweet-salty flavouring got in the way of the burger. Otherwise, the juicy beef patty reminded me of Superfamous' Wagyu beef patty. The point about beef patties is, you don't get to taste the meat...the whole melt in your mouth beefy goodness. Blame me for getting tempted by the whole string of descriptions and most burgers come with minced patties anyway. It is decent, but definitely not stellar.

Oh yes, this comes with a choice of side and we headed straight for "Firecracker fries" which is just fries with paprika powder. Lacked the fireworks somewhere.

That wraps us the visit to Seah Street Deli, full of expectations met with a taste of disappointment. Sure, it is good...just what's the fuss? The service crew clad in baseball jerseys (or at least they look like!) and are a friendly bunch, just overly busy.
