The mom brought home a post breakfast surprise one sunday! A newly opened Min Jiang Kueh stall at Bedok South Market. Priced at 60 cents per slice, considerably cheap as compared to Mr Bean/Jollibean. We gave all the flavours a go;
Peanut
The peanut filling's fine, too powdery, would prefer the peanut bits to be bigger. Tastes good though, even better with peanut butter (If only I knew they offered it with peanut butter as well..)! The only complaint about the peanut filling, too loose hence it falls everywhere creating quite a mess. The kueh's soft and chewy but on the bland side.
Red Bean
The filling's on the sweet side, just red bean paste..would've been better if there were whole red beans inside. I ended up dabbing the kueh with the superfluous peanut filling.
Coconut
I'm not a fan of coconut desserts but this is a pleasant surprise. The grated coconut's moist and not sweet.
Of the three, I rank them in order of preference, Peanut, Coconut then Red Bean.
Tradition's not all lost, with new stalls appearing every now and then!

they have a peanut butter option? grah i didnt know that! my tastebuds have too been spoiled by jollibean's creamy peanut paste but i dislike the overwhelming thickness and blandness of their pancakes.
