The parents suddenly have this Nasi Padang/Briyani craze going on and that explains the surge in frequency of malay food we've been having....BUT, I'm not complaining! We paid a visit to Warong Nasi Pariaman for their famous nasi padang...takeaway! There were simply too many people to sit ourselves comfortably. We've been warned to be there at 11 for their full spread, if not risk having nothing to eat.
I spy a pariaman van..they do catering as well.
Plates and plates of food that keeps getting replenished
Chicken curry that's lemak enough. The meat's easily deboned..makes chewing effortless.
Fried chicken and burgerdils are my two favourite nasi padang dishes of all time. The chicken meat's slightly on the soft side, I'm too used to the kampung chicken. Burgerdil's always a delight!
Sambal Tahu Goreng that was too salty. I still polished it off greedily.
Beef Rendang that's flavourful but the meat's on the soft side. Gravy's perfect with white rice.
The balachan that they packeted for us. Potent stuff! The equivalent of prawn paste in chinese cuisine that whets the appetite hugely. I couldn't help dipping nearly everything in it.
The food's on the salty side, which prompts you to pile up on the rice to reduce the salt intake. I wouldn't say it's worth all the fame.."commercialised" that's what a Malay friend told me.
Twice there..I say...another nasi padang place.
