Takeaway @ Bakery Depot by Cedele

Spin-offs by restaurants or bakeries get too many and sometimes ends up confusing further. From a marketing perspective, it's all about segmentation, but at the back of the consumer's mind...if everything is going to be the same but prices varying, what's different? No doubt, there are places that charge differently because of location, Mcdonalds is one of which.

Here's a couple;

That's just something interesting (to me at least) to bring up on New Year's Day! Happy 2010 one and all!

The booboo that R created over the apple seasalt and seasalt ended on a nice note with Cedele/Bakery Depot takeaway! Christmas lasts a good 12 days for me hence, more logcake! I simply cannot bear polishing off by whole cakes now, slices are suffice.



Apple Caramel Seasalt Logcake - Limited Edition, $5.50/slice

Between this and the Caramel Seasalt Cheesecake, this is better for non-mousse fans. The sponge although slightly drenched in apple sauce was soggy to taste but at least had a bite to it. Clearly, seasalt is acquired, I am sitting on the fence about this.




Pink Beet Cake - $5/slice
Moist and not so sweet, baked with grapeseed oil & fresh beetroot.

This fared better than the apple caramel I was lemming for all these while. Coloured a girlie pink and topped with a single rose bud, visually it satisfied. Beetroot replaces carrot and crushed peanuts replacing californian walnuts in their signature carrot cake, otherwise this tasted almost like carrot walnut cake. I'm still sticking to their Carrot Walnut for a dessert fix.
