A humble waffle popularized by A&W (that unfortunately has since closed down), then came Gelare for the fluffy waffles, waffle tuesday! And most naturally the rest of the bakeries jumped onto the wagon with a live station at their outlets offering cheaper waffles with a variety of fillings. I like mine "kosong", $0.90 at Cake History/Q Bread (I figure they really are the same bakery with a different name!). Soft, not the fluffy kind, slightly chewy with the pandan fragrance that wafts up your nostrils. This after meal sweet is definitely filling, I felt too full to move thereafter.
I should really compile a list of treats under $1, which are really far and few these days.. =)
