Dessert Hut @ Tanjong Pagar

My ad hoc lunch-dessert khaki E and I decided to go guilty after a very simple and calorie light yong tau foo lunch. Dessert Hut it had to be!

It's one of those very crowded chinese dessert places over lunch, throngs of people head there for a sweet cool finish on a hot day especially. Uncoincidentally, we both picked hot desserts.

E had Yam-Black Glutinous ($2.80) soup. Looked better than it tasted. The Yam paste is thin, nowhere near yam paste in fact. The Black glutinous dessert overpowered the yam paste. Gingko nuts were far and few, we didn't fancy this hugely. I've certainly tasted better.

I went traditional with Ah Balling in Peanut Soup ($2.50). This was slightly better in terms of taste, the glutinous rice balls with black sesame paste went well with the bland peanut soup.

Both were served within seconds of ordering. They're known for the mango sago which I deem nothing remarkable though. Will stick to the famous muffins down yonder or go without dessert if I have to.
