The Soup Spoon 2 @ Tanjong Pagar

Back at The Soup Spoon for a hearty lunch and joyous company of the double "E"s as I call them. Both are lovely foodies, the only people I can meet for lunch and proceed for dessert and still wishing we had the whole afternoon to ourselves to just talk!

Mexican Chicken Tortilla Soup (Chicken / Non-Dairy), Regular, $7 (New addition for sept)

My choice of soup! Was highly enticed by the description (taken religiously off the web); clear broth with
"chicken pieces, tomatoes, black beans, corn kernels, jalapenos topped with tons of crispy tortilla strips, avocado, coriander, sourcream and cheddar cheese." The topping was quite a mouthful as recited by the server "would you like the tortilla chips, avocado, coriander, sourcream and cheddar cheese to go?" Sure of course! It ended up looking very colourful and very much like ayam mee soto. The crunchy tortilla strips were a delightful find in the soup, did not end up too soggy nor tasteless. Generous chicken chunks there were...I particularly liked the beans and kernels...added extra bite to the soup. Can they make this a permanent fixture on the menu?

Seafood Miso (Seafood / Non-Dairy), Regular, $8 (New addition for Sept)

Ms E's choice, no pictures unfortunately. This was "high in cholesterol" as claimed by her. Looked that way with chockfuls of seafood! Squid, prawns, mussels even! I took a slurp...yes, yummy indeed. The miso flavour wasn't overpowering, neither was it high on MSG as initially thought.

Mr E had the usual Boston Clam Chowder ($6.80).

Very burp worthy...I wanna be back before the september specials are over! Pity the bread portions are just enough for the few bites...maybe bigger bread rolls? (i wishhh!)

Oh...new soupaholic card! :P
