Swensens has always been a favourite place to hang out either for ice-cream or meals since a long time ago. A place I grew up with and marks the teenage and young adult years.
Somehow or another, I only stick to my usual...which was Cheesy Beef Burger (which has now been replaced by Cheesy Salsa Beef Burger), Fries and ice-cream...Earthquake those days was a hit, sharing it with a dozen others..
This time, I tried the Mega Burger, Juicy beef patty, ham, bacon, grilled vegetables, onions and melted cheese with a fried egg to top it off! Served with U.S. fries and coleslaw. It's a sight to behold with so many layers of ingredients! Found it delicious and the bread was really good, I wolfed that down as well despite being really stuffed from the towering fried egg/bacon/ham/beef patty/salad stash.
Tried the Ocean Crunch Salad as well. It's got crisp mixed greens with carrots topped with fish bites, calamari, breaded shrimps and pineapple BBQ dressing. I hardly like salads with fried food...but Swensen's take on it was refreshing. The fish bites were normal fish fillets. Baked Shrimps are..not too bad, crunchy. Liked the salad dressing!
Ended the meal with..ice-cream of course, Butterscotch.
Not a bad dining experience at Swensens, always has been...always will be.

I beg to differ as I had a few unpleasant experiences at Swensens. Hair in my burger, poor services and waiting more than 1/2 hour for my ice cream which was delivered in a half-melted state. Request to replace the ice cream resulted in another 1/2 hour wait. Got so mad that we walked out before the replacement came. Needless to say, this chain of eateries is now top of my boycott list.

ReplyDeleteTotally get ur pain on bad service..to be honest I've had my fair share at swensons too!
I guess swensen's has never been known for their stellar service..more so for food. (At least the food is better than the service!) Reason being...they always hire students and their outlets are jam-packed regardless.
I was at a really ulu one, far in the woods of Bukit Panjang Plaza..so maybe service was slightly better than say, Orchard.
