Haji Lane has been one of those treasure troves of late, unearthing plenty of food gems for me. Known as the back packer's district, I must say they are a lucky bunch being so near to food paradise.
Sliders ($15 for 3)
These miniature sliders are probably the ones in the kid's meals and fits those with a fickle palette, this trio allowed me to try all three flavours without having to suffer the brunt of the full sized burgers.
Budgie Smuggler
Grilled Chicken in Orange Honey Marinade, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Sweet Chili Sauce and Aioli
This sweet and sour delight turned out to be the best of the trio, I adored the juicy chicken.
Berg with Cheese
The Classic BERG with Blue Cheese
Somehow drier than the full sized ones though cheese makes everything taste awesomely good.
Good Falla
Falafel Pattie, Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Lemon Yoghurt and Aioli
I liked this vegetarian number, enough to make me consider eating it in full portions. The falafel pattie was really delicious and hardly dry!
Hi there, vegetarian burger.
Marrakech ($17.50)
Morrocan Spiced Lamb Pattie, Beetroot, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Mint Yoghurt and Aioli
We had a go at the lamb burger after a rousing success from the beef.
Turns out, lamb was not quite up my alley. It was not as fragrant and juicy as the beef and probably half the satisfaction too.
Classic Berg with Cheese ($14.50)
Old is gold for this choice except I should have just gone ahead with the pungent blue cheese. My choice of swiss cheese was too mild to taste.
Crikey Too ($16.50)
Prime Beef Pattie, Streaky Bacon, Pineapple, Beetroot, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Edam Cheese, Aioli and BERGS Sauce
Same old, same old.
Immense satisfaction, you dirty ole' bastard. Saggy in the center from all that weight and dripping with
Bergs still ranks tops for favourite burger joint but only for their beef burgers.
