Delifrance launches heritage croissants!

Special thanks to Candice and Delifrance for the invite!

Word has it that Marie Antoinette enjoyed hightea over croissants and coffee. And what more befitting for tea these days than an all new improved recipe of the humble croissant from Delifrance?

They have upped the stakes with a winning recipe of the Superior Taste Award 2013 following a blind taste test in June 2013 by a panel from the world renown International Taste and Quality Institute in Brussels.

Lovingly made from top french quality ingredients like finely milled premium wheat flour from Grands Moulins de Paris, fresh butter from Brittany and certified Label Rouge eggs, the Heritage Croissant is traditional, crispier than its famed original and best of all contains no artifiial colours, flavours or hydrogenated fats.

Paying tribute to Delifrance's French roots, the Heritage Croissant are inspired y the artisanal French baking methods such as slow kneading and gentle rolling resulting in a deliciously flaky croissant.

The Heritage Croissant comes in two permanent flavours - Turkey Bacon and Chicken Ham as well as the Almond Poulet. Limited Edition flavours include Cream Cheese with Strawberry Toppings and Hazelnut Chocolate with Almond Flakes.

Cream Cheese with Strawberry Toppings ($3.90)

This is definitely one of those pretty desserts that grab you first for being so photogenic. Strawberries and cream on a flaky croissant is totally my idea of an afternoon tête-à-tête.

Hazelnut Chocolate with Almond Flakes ($3.90)

Chocolate desserts always makes me happy and this was complete with a chocolate drizzle and almond flakes. This would go very well with a mug of hot milk, hot chocolate only for the sweet tooth.

Turkey Bacon and Chicken Ham ($7.50)

My favourite of the two with crispy bacon and ham topped with a homemade honey mustard dressing.

Almond Poulet ($7.50)

I found the chicken dry which made this dry on dry.

We managed to put together our own Heritage creations - I can only say, I shall stick to eating my food and not styling them.
