Laurent Bernard Chocolatier @ Robertson Quay

The chocoholic finally succumbed to the chocolate craving even after a filling dinner...it's Laurent Bernard...for cocoa beans sake! The same way I would cave in to Pierre Herme, regardless. And we all know, the Lord of Macarons ever coming is but a distant dream.

Lemon Tart ($9.80)

Between Apple Tartine and this, I heeded the waitress' advice on the "new" addition. Wrong, how wrong...so very wrong. While the lemon curd had a zesty punch, the tart was a complete mistake.

Soggy and soft...so much so it barely crumbled and stuck onto my fork fiercely! I would have been happier with a "sweet caramelized" apple tartin instead...with vanilla icecream too!

Chocolate Tart ($7.80)

The highly raved about proved more than promising after a rough start with the lemon tart. Firm, crunchy and just the way my kind of tart should be! Smooth, dense chocolate filling made this heaven..yes, you heard right...I risked pimples for this without regrets. Perfect to get the sugar levels rocketing through the roof and endorphins raging through the body...I was ready to take on the rest of the hellish week.

The pennies are on a return for their famed souffles and perhaps, another slice of the chocolate dream.
