Peperoni Pizzeria @ Frankel Estate

peperoni

Being utterly lazy yet greedy, I dragged the pals to Peperoni for a night out over pizza. I have patronized the other outlet at Hillcrest so this visit at Frankel's a first.

table

Liking the splashes of bright colours put together - from the chairs to napkins.

les amis

Les Amis stamp of approval.

family size

XXL Pizza ($50)

Possibly the best selling part of their pizzas, the humongous sizes available...going up to 21 inches even! Honestly I would have gotten the bang of the buck by ordering two large pizzas at a cheaper price.

4 cheese

4 Formaggi
Mozza, Taleggio, Scamorza, Gorgonzola

Delightful for every cheese fan, the flavours were not too strong but pleasant on the palette.

parma ham

Proscuitto Crudo Di Parma
Parma Ham, Rockets

This in comparison had a lot more flavour and punch with a popular combination for gourmet pizzas of parma ham and rockets. Move over hawaiian, parma ham's here to stay!

crusty

A tip about eating their XXL pizzas is to start from the middle - that way, the pizza bases will still remain crispy till the last slice.

portobello

Fried Portobello with chicken and  red wine ($18)

Consistently a favourite, I never knew portobello mushrooms came in such huge sizes. Fried with a delish batter, the juicy mushroom scored! This was more of a meat dish than vegetarian one.

creme brulee

Creme Brulee ($9)

On all grounds a good creme brulee, from the sugary crust to the smooth custard.

vanilla bean specks

Yet one glaring fault - too many vanilla specks. It was one major eyesore at some point.

pistachio icecream

Pistachio Homemade Gelato ($4)

Way too sweet.

panna cotta

Panna Cotta ($9)

Nothing to fault on this wobbly delight though same grouse went to the overload of vanilla specks.

tiramisu

Tiramisu ($11)

For an Italian place, their tiramisu is ultra bad. Stiff and lacking in sponge fingers, this had alot of cream going on.

Desserts had hits and misses though I would recommend just sticking with the pizzas and portobello mushroom.
