Keyaki Bar Revisited @ Pan Pac

keyaki bar

Three years later, same company, same original intent...same final outcome - Keyaki Bar at Pan Pacific just because Morton's Bar was full. The same seats even...and the sweetest outcome is, the same price too. Talk about throwing inflation out of the window!

bar

Bar counter manned by just one waiter who doubles up as the bartender.

9.99 nett

$9.99 nett deal...sweet!

the atrium

The Atrium and Keyaki Bar share the same menu and promotion too!

nuts

Bowl of assorted nuts that got me munching non-stop.

curry chips

Refills that got us curry flavoured crackers.

midori melon saketini

Midori Melon Saketini

In all its green-ness, it was tongue numbingly bitter and flashes of cough mixture. I realise sake and martinis are hardcore drinks that do not appeal to me.

lycheetini

Lycheetini was a mighty one but better than saketini.

vanillatini

Me and my Vanillatini - just the right splashes of sweet. Liked the milky aftertaste, and truth be told..the hints of vanilla are oh-so-pleasant!

tempura prawn

Here's the deal breaker - Keyaki Bar's definition of "complimentary tapas served from 5 - 730pm" used to be free flow servings of Japanese tapas. Now, I finally see inflation has brought it to greater heights - reducing the portions to one cold breaded prawn tempura on the tiniest dish.

I would return for a good deal like this, but not with great expectations of the tapas. Hard to get a decent cocktail under $10 these days! Perhaps the next time I visit, tapas would not be included anymore.
