~Invited Session~
As Christmas draws to a close, the choices for that single merry making meal are boundless and Marriott Cafe is pulling out all the stops to keep diners merry throughout the year-end festivities. I was invited to a preview of their festive specials and here's the chow down on them!
Who can say no to lobster thermidors? These are topped with cheese (oh holy cow!) and move over oysters, these are the new must eats at the buffet.
Cheese rock oysters.
Cheese prawns?
I guess I cannot get enough shellfish with mussels baked with more cheese too!
Roast beef is such a Christmas must have, I usually get torn between this and the Turkey for stomach space. This was done well, so tender and peppered with enough spices.
Honey and Clove Glazed Ham (Boneless) with Cinnamon Pineapple Sauce ($168) and a glass of wine makes a delightful festive treat too, yes?
And not forgetting a must eat, the Traditional Roasted Turkey with Chestnuts, Foie Gras Stuffing, Cranberry and Port Wine Sauce ($178).
This large bird can feed 10 comfortably and more, given its sheer size! The takeaway menu includes more adventurous flavours like Asian spices with mandarin jus and truffle butter!
Their range of sweets were also given a festive touch. These shooters reminded of me egg nog.
Strawberry eton mess shooters were beautifully adorned with a fondant snowflake and you bet I downed several of these - so pretty please!
On top of the already calorie busting buffet, the kind folks gifted us each a yule log! Hands up, who does not like logcake?
Coffee Praline Dulcey Yule Log ($68) is one for the coffee lovers.
This tasted just like coffee icecream with a crunchy praline base after some freezing. This definitely set the mood for Christmas right - caffeine for the long night expected (last minute present wrapping!).
