Ginza Kuroson has a second outlet at Ngee Ann City, and strangely I had not considered visiting either till now. Word has it they are known for beef sashimi and affordable chirashi dons during lunch!
Barachirashi Don ($22)
Portions are generous for a hungry eater, filled with slivers of raw fish and topped with enough roe and that grated wasabi was enough to send me straight to sashimi heaven. For sure not the best bowl eaten but at this price, I am definitely not complaining!
Tempura and Udon Set Meal ($35)
Flip beyond the pages of the lunch set and arrive at the tempura and udon set, one for the ravenous and so value for money too!
The appetizer of minced meat tofu ball served with chilled vegetables was every part delicious and appetizing. Motive achieved!
Salad drizzled with wafu dressing is always a welcome addition in the appetizer compartment too!
Udon with tempura gets served with a choice of warm or hot and both options are equally delicious.
Head for the cold if you prefer your noodles al dente, plus it gets served with spring onions, tempura crumbs and also grated wasabi!
The warm option is perfect for rainy weather, hearty and very wholesome.
Light batter coating a medley of vegetables and meat, delicious much!
Chawanmushi had nothing to scream about but with so much great value going on, I had no complaints.
Barachirashi Don was two thirds the full size, packed with the same amount of goodness too!
Rounding things up with a chocolate mousse that was in my opinion milo spiked, average at best. I suppose this beats cut fruits?
A lovely visit with affordable fare, now let me get to trying that beef sashimi!
