Coast and Company is a biker's haven, bikers as in bicycles. Bicycles line up infront of the shop and even within there are also signs of the owners passion next to cafe.
Brews for take away, anyone?
I cannot help but look out for the bicycles throughout the shop - spot them!
Orders placed at the counter, pay up and get a wooden block in return.
I took to the robin blue cup that was served with the pal's pot of tea.
Babi Hitam ($10)
Black Pepper Pork on Melba Toast topped with shredded Cabbage and Spring Onion
I had my reservations on this, these toasts were essentially crunchy bread and portioned so small I wonder if this should have been an appetizer instead of mains. I loved the black pepper pork, spiced with enough black pepper to fight the haze these days and that crunch from the toast was absolutely satisfying. My main grouse is really the portions!
Coast Breakfast ($15)
Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Salmon, Pork Sausage, Toasted Brioche, Side of Cherry Tomato and Basil Salad
The most hearty of breakfast options available, I liked the pork sausage best. At least it tasted of real meat rather than the synthetic over ground ones.
'Frank' in a Blanket ($14)
Pork Sausage, Spicy Chicken Rendang, Purple Onions, Coriander, Side of Chips
A delicious one with a spicy chicken rendang. Gives the oomph in hot dog and we all wish portions were bigger.
Chicken Bolognese ($16)
Fusilli with Chicken Bolognese Sauce, Sliced Black Olives, Julienne Cucumber
The least exciting of dishes tried, infact one commented it could have been easily replicated from a home cook's kitchen. Lacking in flavour despite the topping of chicken bolognese.
Business is brisk at Coast and Company with most coming for coffee and brunch, by the way. They do have a range of desserts which we opted for Flor Patisserie just doors away.
