Conrad Singapore's Golden Peony Restaurant has launched a charming collection in time for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival in September.

The red faux leather mooncake box is luxe enough to draw plenty of oohs and aahs. In a nutshell, the kind that is great to gift and impress the potential in laws.


The leather box opens to reveal its golden treasures and each box has a cutlery set included.


I love the way it opens up like a treasure trove and that magnetic clasp that clicks close.


Next to CNY, Mid-Autumn's possibly the next festival to indulge in all things red.


Of their range of mooncakes includes a signature Sweet Potato Mooncake in Crispy Filo Pastry specially crafted by Executive Chinese Chef Ku Keung and his team at Golden Peony.


Its crispy exterior reminds me of a yam croquette served during dimsum lunches. A delve into the fillings reveal a smooth whipped sweet potato that is so likeable. Unlike most crispy mooncakes that end up reeking of cooking oil, this is barely oily to touch or taste. Move over orh nee mooncake, this is one to look out for this year, for both finesse and that touch of exquisiteness.

Each box is retailing for $62 before taxes at Conrad Singapore's Lobby, Takashimaya, TANGS Vivocity and Millenia Walk. Early bird ends on 11 September, make haste!
