Sunday Brunch @ Equinox, Swissotel

Dining at Equinox may be the closest to dining in the sky given that it is 69 stories up, which already trumps Sky on 57. The original intent was for a leisurely high tea but they have scrapped that for just ala carte and Anti:dote has revamped with a to-die-for, to-queue-after high tea set so it had to be an indulgent Sunday Brunch.

The spread was alot wider than expected, the length of at least 4 buffet lines - 3 savoury and 1 full corner of desserts. Just seeing them made me wink and grin.

Seafood galore too, I was hoping for Boston lobsters but slipper lobsters were good enough.

Of all the plates consumed, I would recommend paying full attention to their live stations.

Truffle Macaroni had the full works of truffle oil, cheese and macaroni. Loved the heartyness of this casserole and worthy of the thirds I had.

Panfried on the spot, these were served with a brioche toast and caramelised onions. The biggest surprise is these were not flying off the pan the way I expected since this were perhaps the biggest indulgence for the buffet. And one plate was all I managed despite wanting to stuff myself silly with foie gras.

I usually do not get all excited about lamb but this was smoked so well, hardly gamey and the best of all, meaty and the mint jelly was a dream come through.

Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding

Another well roasted dishes, the beef had a lovely sear and packed enough juice for seconds. Perfect with mustard.

Salmon Pie

I made the chef do the honours by slicing the first portion for me. Buttery crust meets a flaky salmon, very well executed and for a lack of a better word - tasty!

Slurps up a dollop of aphrodisiac, methinks the best combination is always tabasco and a wedge of lemon.

A vegetarian lasagne, high on colours but low on satisfaction. I would have preferred this served at a live station.

Pork Belly with a jellied layer of fat, interesting take on the Asian siobak.

The other notable mentions of the buffet include a really hearty pumpkin soup made from scratch.

The range of cheeses I indulged in and wish for so much more stomach space to accomodate more. The breads are also worth some space!

My favourite pairing - cheese and crackers which made the stomach rumble in such satisfaction. Together with the best view in Singapore, I am mighty pleased.

Don't forget to check out their dessert section which is away from the savoury - a great move methinks, at least I get to walk off some calories getting there.

Macaron mania, the trouble with most macarons at buffets is they end up not having distinct flavours. These were too crumbly and the fillings were mostly jams.

The dessert section was so pretty, I spent most of the time taking photos of it. Do pay extra attention to their chocolate pops and banana cake that was incredibly moist.

Entertainment on the go too! We were kept amused by a magician and his deck of cards. 

Food was good, quality and quantity which is expected given the price tag of $138++. For free flow champagne, it comes at a bubbly tune of $158++. Service is expectedly top notch too, well done Swissotel at Stamford!

It is worth an indulgence once every now and Equinox may very well just be the place. Look out for their Pink Champagne Brunch that happens every last Sunday of the month. I hear it is every girl's dream brunch.
