In the preview, we were taken through a mystery restaurant trail completely supported by Audi. Diners can expect to taste an inventive use of chocolate in dishes like Chocolate Beef Cheek Ravioli, 63 Degree Egg with Onion Soubise, Smoked Duck Breast and Chocolate and Garlic Soil!

dbell

D'Bell

Newly opened in Feb 2014, D'Bell is a modern Indian-inspired restaurant and bar headed by the team behind the hugely successful D'Bell outlet in Mumbai.

The effort put into decorating the place was seen in the details on the wall, cushions right down to placemats.

dining area

Love those cushions!

cosy

Nab one of these cosy tables when booking your table!

platter

Mixed Platter
Tandoori Chicken Tikka, Tawa Wali Fish, Masala Aloo Tiki

I experienced a slight delay in getting my appetizer, maybe due to the influx of orders and this could still be considered "teething problems" but all was forgiven when I sunk my teeth into three tasty morsels. I particularly loved the Aloo Tiki to Mumbai and back. Spiced potatoes simply but these tasted so good.

mocktail

I had a berry mocktail, sweet and refreshing one to start the evening with!

Wooloomooloo Steakhouse

I call this the steakhouse from Hongkong with an unbeatable view of the F1 tracks and fireworks for as long as National Day Parade continues to be at the floating platform. The past few Restaurant Week with them have been hard to book hence it was thrilling to visit this as part of the main course.

Australian 150-Day Grain Fed Ribeye
Duck fat potatoes, wild mushrooms, bearnaise sauce

steak

The kitchen wowed me in terms of execution and dishing out plates and plates of steak in record time. Within minutes of ordering, we had the onion loaf plonked on the tables and shortly after our steaks appeared.

Tender, juicy and well seared, I enjoyed my first foray into the Wooloomooloo experience. All steaks are served with the following sauces Au Jus, Peppercorn, Mushroom, Red Wine Madeira which were complementary with the grilled meats.

onion bread

If I may mention, their onion loaf is incredibly fragrant and fluffy too.

dining city

Americanised, fast and a cross between a classic and modern steakhouse. To be congruent with the theme of this year's Restaurant Week, they have a chocolate dessert on their menu, inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's "Golden Ticket" where there will be a daily winner of a $50 nett dining voucher! I was honoured to be pick the winning ticket and I will be back at Wooloomooloo's really soon!

Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt (OCF)

French cuisine speaks at OCF, Chef Jonathan is inspired by nature's gift which ends up as his ingredients.

ocf

The grand piano on the stage was really inviting, it would be a great place for dining if they had a pianist - top marks for ambience methinks!

Le Chocolat et La Cafe
Whipped Chocolate Ganache, Coffee Crumble, Espresso Sorbet, Hot Moka

dessert

Dessert, served.

oooo

The other tables had their oohs and aahs going on and then, I realised why.

drip

Theatrical though it is not the first time I have seen the tricks of the trade. At some point it reminded me of several other similar chocolate desserts be it Joel Robuchon's Chocolate Surprise or Natalie Gourmet Studio's Chocolate Tart New Age

chocolate

There was a ton of flavours going on the coffee and chocolate combination, truly an experience and best consumed with dessert wine.

drinks

Slurp!
