Department of Caffeine (D.O.C.) @ Duxton Road

Department of Caffeine (D.O.C.) is one of those cafes that sprung out joining the rest of the likes in the same vicinity. Reviews have mentioned brisk business and thankfully their reservation system works fine and booking for below 6 people is but a breeze.

Reservations made to secure the only large table in the cafe.

Our location meant we had a full view of the cafe.

Main Course + Large Salad ($18)

There is a choice of roast chicken or grilled salmon with vegetables.

Eggs benny

Limp muffins with a decently made poached egg.

Passed the knife test!

Shepherd's Pie ($16)

Served with a side of salad, the shepherd's pie had a nice balance of mash potato and minced beef. Tasty rendition.

Delicious!

B.O.E. ($20)

Translates to bit of everything for the finicky eater like me.

Buttermilk Waffles with Peanut Butter ($14)

It is strange to have peanut butter and jam at once and the jam overrides all other flavours. That was the case for the waffle that succumbed to the lack of fluffiness.

Lemon Yogurt Cake ($6)

Looked better than it tasted - the cake was stiff though the frosting zesty.

Cafe Latte ($5)

Caffe Mocha ($5.50)

Prettyful latte art.

Apple, Ginger, Mint Juice ($5.50)

This was more apple juice than ginger or mint but it came together really nicely without being too herb-y.

It is an average joint with hits and misses - better options out there.
