Koh Grill and Sushi Bar Revisited @ Food Republic Wisma Atria

This was a random visit without reservations because they closed them for the day. So wait I did in line, a minimum 30 minute wait entirely depending on luck. Even on weekdays, the queues drag for as long as they do on weekends but waiting time is definitely shorter.

pitan tofu

Pitan Tofu ($4)

It has become a staple in this second visit. I've got my eyes on Pitan Maki next to see if I am as enamoured about pitan or the tofu.

Yasai Itame ($6)

A really salty stir fried vegetable dish which would go well with rice.

shiok maki

Shiok!!! Maki Generation 1 ($16.80)

Eel and seared salmon make this tick as SHHHHHHIOOOOK indeed. I prefer this over Gen 2 as flavours are well balanced and once again, the delicious cream sauce and generous scattering of fish roe makes this the bomb. Be prepared to wait though but definitely worth the while!

fried rice

Seafood Fried Rice ($10)

I was attracted by the pictured in the menu and this came looking bland and drab yet there is nothing chilli powder cannot do. Lacking wok hei as with most Japanese fried rice dishes but it tasted pretty good.

Shirane Tofu ($8)

Think crispy fried tofu and fried fish skin topped with cream sauce, bonito flakes and fish roe. Delicious much!

salmon don

Sake Chirashi ($13)

This is a better bang for the buck than chirashi don even without the variety.

gindARA

Ginadara Yaki ($16)

Fiercely bouncy slab of grilled cod slapped with a generous mentaiko sauce.

I. LOVE. Koh Grill and Sushi. Too. Tons on the menu to experiment with but one thing's for sure, Shiok Maki is already worth a visit!
