Saying no to dessert on a daily basis is cardinal sin.
Saying no to dessert in Japan is completely unforgivable and worthy of drowning in custard.
No matter how stuffed we were, like all women, we always found space for dessert.

The best part about desserts in Japan, as filling as they look - they hardly are. Hooray!

Morimoto is one the several dessert counters at the gourmet floor of Daimaru, all vying for one's attention. Walking past so many panels of cake has never gotten more mind boggling - all looked too good to be eaten!

mont blanc

Mont Blancs like cream puffs are irresistible. This was constructed on a sponge cake base, whipped cream and twirls of chestnut. Light and delicious, not quite decadent per se yet it fulfilled the sugary desire.

strawberry shortcake

Strawberry Shortcake that every Japanese is proud of. Even a male colleague instructed me to give their shortcakes a go (a must!). Sponge was too dense, whipped cream too measly. I say give this shortcake a miss.
