I love Ladies Night for the simple reason…it gives
us a special time together to bond with girlfriends and many a time the
activities for the night would be wow-wow-wild…far away from the men in
our lives. These would include the first
introduction to jell-o shots yonks back or a decadent dinner buffet at
ladies only prices but here comes one with activities. Hippoptamus
Grill’s Ladies Night is on every Tuesday from 3pm to 8pm. The line up of
activities include a cordoned off area dressed
up with balloons and tinsel foil to create that flirty atmosphere.
Specially for the launch event, we were encouraged to come in red – a
flirty red and Miss Hip would be picked for the night.

Spot the sexy red.

Kudos to the team for including an emcee and two
muscly hot bloodied men to attempt to raise the temperatures for the
night.
Perhaps the lack of interaction by the guests made the event dip interms of excitement or generally, ladies who indulge in Ladies Nights just want time alone and not be harassed into taking part into games like getting touchy feely with the strippers.
It started off with a “Guess the drink game” and a stripper to dish out the shots and then came a eat the candy worms off the apple and ended off with a striptease (except that all they ever did was to sit on the lap and try to do a lapdance) amidst squeals.

For the night, the Hippopotamus Royale was served
with raspberries. Hardly caused a hic if you ask me, more fruit punch
than not.
Tenderloin (180 gsm) ($28.90)
Fries, Roquefort cheese gravy
A chunk of meat cooked medium, while I was not
blown away it was suffice to quell the hunger pangs. Roquefort cheese
possibly takes the steak for being stinky and rich.
This was thinner in cut and cooked unevenly, too
raw at parts and just right at others. Definitely more tender than
tenderloin but the chewing needed certainly delayed enjoyment. Potato
Gratin was alright as with the béarnaise sauce. I
would not give up my veggies for any of that though.
Overall a mediocre effort at pulling off what
should be sexy and satisfying. Like a watered down mojito, meh in my
opinion. Food was not particularly great either though I have to admit
that it was better than the last attempt. Would I
love Tuesdays more because of this? Hardly.
