The main reason why this particular eating area is
always crowded is because of LaoBan Soyabean curd. Until they ran a
1-for-1 mains promotion, the place was bursting with people. Two servers
catering to the whole bunch of lunch diners.
Service was painfully slow, the lapse between the
serving of salad and finally the mains was more than half an hour. Even
with repeated reminders, our food took nearly forever.
Chicken Salad
Drizzled in vinaigrette, the salad was pretty good with a generous portion of chicken and seaweed flakes.
Duck Confit ($12.90)
This would have been the cheapest duck confit
discovered to date, if only it were really duck confit. More like
braised duck with a side of poached pear, firm meat with tasty gravy.
Pretty decent dish I must add, for half the price, this
is quite the steal! The buttered corn rice was equally delicious too.
Black Pepper Chicken ($9.80)
A measly portion of chicken chop that was also reminiscent of the salad.
The food is decent and reasonably priced but the service is bad.
