Paradise Inn @ Suntec City

paradise inn

Replacing Tang Dian Wang at Suntec City is Paradise Inn. I am not too sure when the switch took place but this was a pleasant surprise.

interior

They have retained much of the same decor (not that I patronized Tang Dian Wang) but handmade streamers were adorned for that added festive feel.

cutlery

Like the sauce holder best.

nuts

Braised peanuts as starters were slightly salty but easy to eat.

yusheng

Rudimentary.

sprinkle

Came in such a huge bowl, perfect for tossing high with minimal spillage.

yusheng

The mess.

tossed

Prosperity Salmon Yusheng

Slightly sweet but nonetheless a delicious one!

double boiled soup

Traditional Double Boiled Soup

MSG-laden soup with a delish fall-of-the-bone pork rib.

cod

Steamed Silver Cod Fish in Superior Soya Sauce

Fresh cod with a simple yet tasty soya sauce pairing.

tofu

Braised Tofu with Seafood and Pork Floss in Mini Wok

Loved the tofu best - silken smooth.

pork chop

Imperial Pork Ribs

Not a fan of this soggy one - could have been miles better.

trio egg spinach

Poached Chinese Spinach with Egg Trio in Superior Stock

A lighter take on this heng hwa signature.

fried vermicelli

Homemade Style Fried Vermicelli

Chewy strands of vermicelli, lacking in wok hei somehow but decent.

red bean soup

Red Bean Sago

To round off the meal on a sweet note.

barley

Chilled Homemade Barley

Plain tasting barley to wash down the grease. One of the few places that offer beverages in the set menu without extra surcharge.

Portions tend to be on the small side for a table of ten, suffice for all ladies but not for the men. Homecooked fare by Paradise Inn once again, the last visit to Bedok Point was mediocre..Suntec's outlet was marginally better. Still, an affordable option during this festive season!

$268.80++ per table of 10
