I already hate turkey by the time this post goes out. Too much of a good thing becomes bad - consecutive meals of turkey made me sick of it. The interest in logcakes nosedived this year, surprisingly.
Year after year, Cedele logcakes passed us by. They completely sold out on their logcakes last year so we decided to jumpship. We probably mastered enough courage to switch allegiance to Cedele from the hotels.
Grand Pistachio Orange Logcake ($63.60)
Orange cake layered with rum liquer cream, rich pistachio frosting
The fruit adornments looked drab and dowdy, somehow. Almost as if they had been assembled for days and left to preserve in the chiller.
Dense logcake this is, coarse layers of orange cake with diced pistachios and soggy chocolate pearls embedded. I am no fan of this dense cake, a tad crumbly and coarse in texture. Pistachio frosting was overwhelmed by the orange flavour, this did not pull off the desired delectable stunt.
