Ultra Heat Lounge @ Royal Plaza on Scotts

I dragged the alcoholic to Ultra Heat Lounge one Saturday evening to chill with my favourite caiprinhas. I had my first Brazilian national drink at the same lounge years back and have regarded it as the way all caiprinhas should taste henceforth.

inside heat lounge

The cosy lounge.

chandelier

Fell in love with the chandelier, their low ceilings, high arm chairs...everything so whimsical!

window seat

How about a window seat to watch some orchard buzz.

nurse shot!

Kinky shots for the daring..I was tempted to try and see if there will be a waitress clad in nurse uniform coming to register the shot! Next time, I guess.

ipad menu

One of the first places I've been to that uses iPad for menu browsing, with pictures too! Loves the novelty and sheepishly, I admit...I am tempted to get one.

Apple wins, once again!

lychee x original

Caiprinha ($16)
Lychee Caiprinha ($16)

The original was too bitter somehow, perhaps the concoction was too heavy on the rum. Lychee fared marginally better though.

caiprinha

A snap of the once unforgettable cocktail.

mango caiprinha

Mango Caiprinha ($16)

What a contrast in portions! The mango version was too fruity this time, way too much mango juice infused.

balaning ice

Got bored with the drinks and started fooling around with ice.

nuts

Thankfully their nut platter was good, hearty bowl of peanuts, almonds, cashews and macadamias. Refills are hard to comeby though.

topshell

Topshell with spicy marinate and cashews ($11)

This took eternity of a lifetime to arrive, yet when it arrived...tasted straight off the buffet table at Carousel. Lacking in spice and kick, this was a tad sweet. Portions are good enough for three bites across two people.

cashews

And yet another pile of nuts for munching.

If anything, they have a really good resident band who plays on weekends. Unlikely to return for caiprinhas.
