TWG Revisited @ Ion Orchard

It was entirely out of convenience that I went back to TWG for dessert. Partially filled with a brunch crowd, the place was buzzing with activity in a span of minutes..talk about right timing sometimes.

strawb mille feuille

Strawberry Mille Feuille ($8.50)

Food in carts always are a draw, pastries all the more so. Mille Feuille attracted because of the layers and strawberries..colours always work when it comes to temptations. Can't like it enough for the crispy layers and custard yet the strawberries baffled me. Save for the one on top, the rest were sour.

macarons

Macaron ($2 each)

I probably cannot find a Pierre Herme here so I'll do away with the comparison. TWG's not the best of the lot either just that I find tea without macarons...incomplete. If anything, I do the caramel filling.

creme brulee

Creme Brulee ($10)

Two saucers of cream brulee infused with tea. They had me at hello...never quite expected such a splendid display from TWG. If creamy dreams are made of Tampopo's cream puffs, this had to follow hot on the heels.

So that wraps up the visit to TWG...not too sure if I am still enchanted by this wonderland as it used to be.
