I've always been intrigued by open cinemas..perhaps it's from eavesdropping and listening in on the parents' unabashed reminiscing of their good old days where the Dad would drive the Mom in his cadillac and both would watch a movie under the stars. It is the whole nostalgia that works this...or trying to find that weebit of old school that I wish I were part of. Talk about being a true blue piscean and the ultimate romantic.
Many a time, I felt compelled enough to head to the Museum for their open cinema sessions but schedules were hard to meet. This time, I was lucky enough to chance upon MGM Cinema under the stars at Fullerton Hotel! This continues for every last Saturday of the month...grab a seat under the stars and watch a black white film! Drinks and snacks are chargeable, film is free.
The only black white films that I watched and fell so deeply in love with are Audrey Hepburn classics like Breakfast at Tiffanys and Roman Holiday which I have every heart and mind to buy the DVDs someday. Old american movies are brilliant works...the casting, acting...script...pacing...puts the overcommercialised chick flicks or sci-fi movies to shame. It's all about going back to basics sometimes.

Movie for the night was "Some like it hot" by the evergreen Marilyn Monroe! I should think I'll be heading back for the rest of the movies planned...

The rest of the cosy backyard.

Well of course, watching a movie is hardly complete without food...they had a special menu for the night which included tortillas and whatsnots but I was content with the tray of curry crackers and assorted nuts.

So addictive, I was munching nonstop. These are more fatal than popcorn and nachos.

Pina Colada
A personal favourite next to Martini and Sex on The Beach...this was more juice than alcohol...could barely taste a trace of alcohol. Good for deluding. Interesting that this had pineapple puree within which gave the drink a fruitier kick.

Mai Tai
Not quite what I imagined..this came out tasting quite like yakult.

Royal Kir
Ever since L'Entrecote...I've been quite a fan of this...a consistent favourite as well with the sweet cassis liquer and bubbly wine finish.
