Central Tsuru Tsuru Tei @ Central Mall

Original plans for Santouka Ramen were shelved upon the neverending queues. We settled for Tsuru Tsuru Tei just a couple of doors away instead. Under the Tampopo Group, Tsuru Tsuru Tei offers an alternative to casual dining.

Katsu Curry Don ($10)

Waraku spoilt me rotten with their Niku Curry Don, think thick slurpworthy udon and thick rich potato curry gravy drizzled. Tsuru Tsuru's version was less palatable somehow, the katsu slices were thin and surely lacking in bite.

Tasty Egg ($1.80)

Honestly, I cannot tell a bad Japanese egg from another. Most if not all come with wobbly egg whites beneath the browned surfaces and a awesomely yellow egg yolk.

Bamboo Shoot ($2)

Made for nibbling.

Kyushu Ramen ($13.30)

Nothing could stop the boys' ramen craving and ramen they had. Regular tasting ramen with an equally regular broth to match. Nothing too rich nor sinful.

Average at best, it's back to joining the queues at Santouka!

  1. Santouka has another outlet at Cuppage Terrace, seems to have more seating space!
