A night of roaming for desserts somehow landed me at Cafe Cartel. Prior visits did not end too well, hence the initial apprehension.

A basket of overbaked baguette slices that did not taste all that bad, served to clear the day's supply.

Urban Bread Pudding ($8.50)
Won over by description and definitely not taste. Bread and Butter pudding so curdled, really just egg custard, fruits straight off a can and old fashioned whipped cream. Passe it screams, passe it really is.

Bananarama Waffle ($8.20)
I must admit I was impressed by this, coming from Cafe Cartel particularly. Waffles with the desired fluffy texture, drizzled with a generous amount of caramel and bananas. Albeit just normal vanilla ice-cream, I found an unlikely gem in Cafe Cartel's waffles.
