Fish & Co 2 @ ION

Fish&Co, Breeks, Seoul Garden and Planet Hollywood were one of those favourite secondary school hangouts. Sadly, only Fish&Co and Seoul Garden have battled time and stood out quite extraordinarily in this day and age, catering to the same category of people! Those days, seafood platters and their famous mints were all the rage, I'm not quite sure what warranted this visit at ION.

Good old secondary school stuff.

In all auntie fashion, a discount should never be passed up.

Basket of bread that came with the mussels. Chewy dense bread embedded with herbs. Dipping in the cream gravy was just purrrrrrfect.

Mussels, Garlic and Lemon Butter ($10.95)

Perhaps the only dish that has retained its standard through the years. I was pleasantly surprised that they fared better than those from The Mussel Guys! Not at all fishy, these plump shellfish were delicious. Pity I consumed them too fast or perhaps I did not chew enough, I ended up with indigestion. :(

The props has to be given to the garlic and lemon butter cream sauce! When dipped with bread, it was lethal. I figure that contributed to the indigestion as well.

Banana Foster Cake ($6.95)

A moist buttercake layer and banana cream filling studded with banana cake cubes. Cinnamon brown sugared whipped cream finish makes this a Louisiana Favourite.

I'm not sure what made me order dessert at Fish & Co, knowing well these cakes are probably not made in house (I could be wrong). I figure it was the 20% discount being dangled.

I was certainly not expecting much but it blew me away. Looks like it were taken off a frozen pack and dished up. For once, the looks are deceiving. I was worried it would be another Fruit Paradise clotted cream dessert, thankfully the episode did not repeat. Cinnamon and Banana has to be on my list of favourites and paired together, I enjoyed the combination muchly. No, the cream was not cloying, in fact light and delectable. The cake is as promised, moist. Banana fragrance well permeated through each bite. I loved the tart crust at the side which made this more than just cake.

20% off this introductory item made the deal sweeter.

The airconditioning at Fish&Co aims to chill your bones and cool your food faster than naught. My teeth was almost chattering after signing the bill.

their staff's service is so good!
there is a discount for their yummy cakes. rmb to try their dark choc cakes. totally reminds me of Sprungli Cafe in Zurich!
Go give it a try but after opening for only 4 days, some items on the menu aren't ready yet... (i felt it was such a pity since we missed their dark/milk choc fondue! ($18 only))
it reminds me of wonderful Swiss restaurant Marche too :D
