My favourite blue box! Still adoring the packaging and handy use of ribbons.
The third logcake for this season! Apart from the famous heiress and her whimsical ways, a supposedly authentic Thai Buffet, fabulous packaging during Mid-Autumn, the best and priciest cheesecakes in town, Hilton is another of my favourite places for logcakes.
Chestnut Cheese Logcake, 500gsm, $48
At $48, it is double of its counterparts with Goodwood's durian going at $55 for 1kg. Years back, a gf sent us a box of marron glacé from Paris for Christmas. I thought little of this confectionery simply candied chestnuts with a pasty texture. Fast forward a couple of years, I've grown to appreciate chestnuts and christmas.
Locally, Hilton's perhaps the only place that marries two of my favourites together, chestnuts and cheese cake in a festive favourite. The chestnut cheesecake bears a subtle hint of alcohol with generous glaced chestnuts scattered throughout the rich cheesecake. Adore the clever chestnut hints throughout the cake, the large marron glace on top of the logcake, the chestnut bits and chestnut flavoured cream...a pleasurable logcake for every chestnut lover.
Two christmases with the marvelous chestnut cheese logcake, I dare say...it's probably going to be a permanent fixture.
