I had no idea inside Le Rouge, a chocolatier and wine place lies Fre(n)sh snugly nested inside. Yes, the very same french outfit as Vivocity. Manned by two french and a helper, business is very brisk over lunch. If they're not putting together salads, they're distributing quiches.

Promotions plastered on the walls.

Packed.

Ham, Emebert and Onion Quiche ($8.50)

Salmon, pepper and cheese Quiche ($8.50)
The quiche was a "must try" insisted the gf. I opted for that over their opened faced sandwiches and baguette sandwiches. The portion of quiche is huge, as compared to Delifrance, almost the size of a slice of pizza. The quiche was moist and was mostly egg rather than salmon. I could barely taste the salmon infact. The ham quiche is better, the taste of the ham and onion is much stronger. I'll give them credit for the crispy tart, there was a slight burnt taste though. It felt too heavy on the egg, a little too jelard somehow.
Both are served with salad, french dressing and sultanas. I enjoyed the salad very much, somehow sliced lettuce and french dressing works wonders for me.

Dessert of the day was Chocolate Tart, but we headed for Creme Brulee ($5.50). Dessert fared better than the quiche. Albeit a small portion given the price, the chilled creme brulee was a smooth curd with a fragrant finish. The burnt sugary top was nicely done...and yes, the much lauded black specks that I always look out for these days!
Not wowed on the quiche. Service is fussfree.
A number of dishes that weren't available; Escargots, Crab Tartine, Foie Gras, Sabayon and Fromage Blanc.
