Hot cross buns..another food that's synonymous with Easter apart from Easter eggs and Semla Buns. Almost the same as the Semla, Hot cross buns are spiced buns with raisins. I was half tempted to get them from Swiss Bake or even Cedele...Cold Storage also sold them at a discount even before Easter struck.
I finally caved into temptation at Werner's Oven, the least likely place to get these buns. The lady boss was so passionate about them...she claimed they are "ohh so good, better when microwavered and smeared with butter".
$1.30 each, the gf and I took the last remaining 3. It's a chewy bun, nice texture and tastes better eaten as it is than with butter. The butter taste gets overshadowed by the spiced bread.
