R & I are still pretty much on the search for THE snow ice in Sg..it's one of those desserts that we've been consistent in flavours, only mango ice. I first chanced upon Anytime Food at Anchorpoint last year and we've not quite had the appetite on the right day to tuck into this..we made that concerted effort last week...like finally!
It's manned by a team of aunties and having placed our order at the counter, we took our seats in a sparsely furnished shop. There was another table savouring the chee cheong fun. The stall's quite unique in the way they sell snow ice in addition to dimsum items as opposed to the other snow ice stalls we've attempted.
Mango Snow ice ($3.80)
This took two attempts to get right. They confused it with the Durian Snow Ice the first time round, rather measly portion at a glance. The mango ice at first look, is comparatively very fruity and generous in portion..at least for the mango topping! Thick cubes of rich mango, not too sweet. Anytime's probably the most generous for topping.
The major minus point, the ice is not flavoured nor has any milky taste to it. Very much just dry shaved ice. It doesn't melt in the mouth like snow flakes rather dissolved like ice.
We continue on our search...again!
